Hi, I was wondering if an update would be available to work with PowerPivot PivotTables. It appears that the only thing that doesn't work is loading metadata, so the metadata tab in the editor is empty.

Hello - Yes, it is part of my plans. However, calculated members do not show up in the Gemini (PowerPivot) task pane - they show up only in the traditional PivotTable Field List. But, I will work to get the metadata part working in the next 2 months.

Thanks for the response. I actually created a calculated member on a PowerPivot dimension using VBA. The MDX shows that the calculated member is included in the query, but I don't see this member in the PivotTable or anywhere else.

Yes, you won't see it in the Gemini Task Pane. You'd need to explicitly go the the PivotTable Tools - and show the PivotTable Field list. Right now, however, PowerPivot doesn't like when you switch between the Gemini Task Pane and the PivotTable Field List (you need to choose one or the other).

With that said, if you created a calculated member (rather than a calculated measure) it might not show up in the Excel PivotTable Field list either. You can see a discussion of (the weak support for calculated measures) in another thread (and it doesn't look like Excel 2010 makes calculated member support any better).

Oh, I was referring to calculated members (which isn't showing up in either task pane). PowerPivot is designed to use DAX for calculated measures. I suspect that MDX based calculated measures don't show up in the PowerPivot task pane purposely be design. On the other hand, the MDX expression allows the calculated measure to show up in the PivotTable OLAP task pane. So long as both DAX and MDX calculated measures show up in the PivotTable task pane after connecting to the model saved in SharePoint, I don't see an issue with the current behavior.
